Day 3: Hiking the Sleeping Giant!

Yesterday, our staff began the day learning more about the First Year Residential Experience and QU’s student policies. Later in the afternoon, the OLs and the Interns hiked the Sleeping Giant Mountain, which encompasses the state park right on our Mount Carmel campus.

Day 2: Partner Reveal!

Yesterday the Interns revealed to the staff that this summer’s theme is AROUND THE WORLD! Here are some of the partner pairs representing their countries! 

Training Day 1: Camp Hazen

Our 80 Orientation Leaders moved back to campus yesterday and began training this morning! The staff traveled to Chester, CT to visit Camp Hazen YMCA. There, the staff got to know each other through icebreakers, team building activities, and ropes courses.

Fun Fact: I have the sense of smell as strong as a dog, but have terrible hearing due to earaches as a young child and popping both of my eardrums

Jackie Pegno

Hobbies: I love dancing, laughing, laughing at myself, enabling my shopping addiction, spending time with my friends and family, walking my slightly chubby pup, driving, playing tennis and not so good golf, and watching big bang theory

What I’m Most Excited for About Orientation: To see what the signature song will be this year! Those slide shows are nothin’ without it! I’m also so excited to make the freshmen class even more excited about QU than I am!

What I’m Most Excited for About Orientation: Getting to know my fellow OL’s, and welcoming new students to Quinnipiac. I am very excited to get to know everyone, and especially show the class of 2017 what lies ahead in the best experience of their lives, that is Quinnipiac!

Matt Popyack

Hobbies: I enjoy being outdoors and active.  I like to ski in the winter, scuba dive in the summer. Running. Traveling, and I love being with friends all the time. 

Fun Fact: I’ve jumped out of a plane at 14,000 feet while in Australia.
